Documentary Screening: Alice Waters – We Are What We Eat
Join us for an inspiring afternoon celebrating the profound connection between food, culture, and sustainability with the screening of Alice Waters – We Are What We Eat.
This captivating documentary follows culinary icon Alice Waters, a pioneering chef, restaurateur, and advocate of the Farm-to-Table movement, as she embarks on an extraordinary journey through Japan. Shot in 2023 to commemorate the first anniversary of the Japanese translation of her book, We Are What We Eat – A Slow Food Manifesto, the film offers a heartfelt exploration of Japan’s vibrant food culture. Alice visits farms, schools (and enjoys school lunches), local producers, and chefs, delving into the traditions that align with her lifelong mission of sustainable, organic food practices.
Alice Waters herself will join us for this special event, offering personal insights into her experiences in Japan, her inspirations, and the lessons we can take forward in cultivating a more mindful relationship with the food we eat.
